STATEMENT

I am an artist, a psychologist, a mother, a wife, a daughter. I am a woman.

Every day I discover and learn techniques, textures, and combinations.  I live experiences that transcend, at first, my understanding.

Each day, I confirm that art is not having the colors with the best texture, or the best materials in my brushes…  Art is having something burning in my soul, something that needs to be shared and communicated.  Art is a part of your life that demands to be expressed.

My pictorial work emanates from the conviction that art can be, as told by Carl Jung, an effective vehicle to project the elements of the personal and collective subconscious.

This is why, through art I can touch the soul of the spectator, and with certain amount of luck, I can make that something inside him or her move.  The subconscious plays an important role in each of my pieces because they are, to put it in some way, mental projections brought to the canvas or other objects, and then these art elements work as a bridge between the ethereal and the tactile work, between the thoughts and the feelings.

Art is also a social commitment.  Trough my art I can send messages to society.  This may be a drop of water in the middle of the ocean, but this does not matter, the action, no matter how small, can change the world and can change me, for the better.

RESUME

Two things have fascinated Julieta since she was a child, psychology and art. Considering the second the expression of the first.
